The four steps

One repeatable way into any scenario, spoken or typed. Ten modules teach it, ten practice sets drill it. On test day it is what you fall back on.

Answer, then audit

From module three, a second video writes an answer in front of you and marks it against the ten things raters score. Seeing an answer pulled apart teaches faster than being shown a model one.

Three full timed mocks

Eleven scenarios each, four spoken then seven typed, in the real order and on the real clock. They run in the Casper practice app, which holds twenty full sittings.

What the Casper test actually asks of you

Casper is the situational judgement test run by Acuity Insights. Eleven scenarios: four video response, one minute for each of two questions, and seven typed, three and a half minutes per pair. Sixty five to eighty five minutes in total, with an optional ten minute break after the video section and a five minute one part way through the typed section. There is no number to chase. People rate your answers and the result is a quartile, your standing against everyone who sat the same test type. That is why memorising content moves so little. What moves a quartile is how you think on the page, under time.

Built for the parts candidates neglect

The spoken section comes first, while you are still nervous, and it is the part most people rehearse least. One whole module covers it: what changes when an answer has to leave your mouth in sixty seconds. Another covers why strong international candidates lose marks on things that have nothing to do with their judgement. Then speed and pressure. Then the day itself, hour by hour.

Common questions about preparing for Casper

How long does the Casper test take? Sixty five to eighty five minutes, eleven scenarios, two optional breaks. Can you prepare for a situational judgement test? Yes, and Acuity’s own research says so. The official tips page and the free official practice test were both measured to help, and both cost nothing. This course tells you to do both before module one, then teaches what they do not cover. How is the Casper test scored? In quartiles, against everyone who sat the same test type. No pass mark, no numeric score. Where do the mocks run? In the Casper practice app at https://app.cresmd.co/interview/casper, which holds twenty full sittings and more than two hundred scenarios, spoken and typed. Your subscription includes 60 practice credits every month. One credit is one scenario, and a full timed sitting of 11 scenarios uses 11, so a month covers up to 3 full sittings plus single-scenario practice. Unused credits do not carry over to the next month. Casper is a trademark of Altus Assessments Inc. CresMD is independent and is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by Altus.
